Location:

We are pleased to offer the catalogue for the first part of the Paul Lucas Collection of Australian Military History for sale by auction, with nearly 300 lots covering primarily the Boer War and the First World War.

Although unit histories and memorial volumes are well-represented, the strength of the collection, more than forty years in the making, is its rich veins of rare ephemeral printings (including troopship journals printed at sea or in the field, recruitment posters, programmes, signed menus), unusual badges and artefacts, and unique diaries, letters, photographs and commemorative testimonials.

The second main sale, to be conducted later in the year, will focus predominantly on the Second World War. Between these main sales, a series of timed auctions of further material from the collection will take place.

Final bidding starts Saturday 22 February 2020 at 1pm ACDT
