A matching group of five vintage sepia-toned gelatin silver photographs (each 82 × 108 mm, on individual mounts) depicting the life of the camel as a beast of burden

Two mounts are captioned ('String of Camels' and 'Pack Camels'); these two, and two others, show heavily laden camels and their handlers. The fifth photograph shows four camels harnessed to a wagon. The professional quality of the prints and their presentation belie the harsh environment in which they were produced. The images are in fine condition; the mounts are a little rubbed. They are uncredited and undated, but we suggest the 1920s, possibly Central Australia.
