Small folio, [xx], xii, 563 pages with innumerable illustrations of surgical implements plus unnumbered coloured card section dividers.

Half leather and papered boards a little rubbed, bumped and lightly worn at the extremities; marginal tears to a few leaves expertly sealed; a very good copy.

The text is in German, English, French and Spanish. Page [xviii] contains some fine self-promotional copy, along with a line illustration of the 'Hindenburg'. 'The airship ..., an example of today's technical progress, for whose construction and complement only the very best was selected, is equipped with CHIRON stainless steel instruments'. The airship flew from March 1936 until destroyed by fire 14 months later on May 6, 1937, at the end of the first North American transatlantic journey of its second season of service. With the expansive armorial bookplate of Hardwicke Knight (Hardwicke Albion Press) on the front pastedown.
