The archive comprises nearly 440 pieces (each approximately 320 × 510 mm or larger), many from the later 1970s when Mitchell was at the height of his powers. A unique commentary on the personalities and events of the times: when Hawke, Fraser and Dunstan were in power, Nixon went to China, the war in Vietnam ended and the first wave of 'boat people' began to arrive here, many Indigenous Australians were in a parlous state, cricket and cricketers still caused grief ...
