Aboriginal Art of the Western Desert
Adelaide, Rigby, 1979.
Quarto, 71 pages with 24 colour plates, each with an accompanying explanatory diagram (and generally with a portrait plate of the artist).
Papered boards lightly sunned on the spine and along the top edges, slightly marked and with trifling surface loss to the bottom edges; light foxing to the half-title and title page; a very good copy with the dustwrapper a little bumped and sunned on the spine.
The first book on the Papunya painting movement by the man responsible for its development. It presents 'twenty-four of the best paintings by twenty artists who are recognised leaders'. Inscribed, dated (4 March 1980) and signed by the author - and very rare thus.
