Henry Hussey (1825-1903), evangelist, millenarian, printer and historian, emigrated to South Australia in 1839; he devotes 22 of the 36 pages on the Australian colonies to his home state. Provenance: Thomas Gill (1849-1923), South Australian public servant, bibliographer and book collector. His library was bequeathed to the Royal Geographical Society of South Australia; this copy has the John Goodchild-designed bookplate to that effect on the front pastedown, and a cancelled RGSSA stamp on the title page. Ferguson 10702: 'The title adequately describes the other stages of his journey. American conditions in several states are noticed'.
