Cloth; fine copies in the very good original plain card slipcase (a little rubbed and marked).

The half-title of the first volume is inscribed and signed by the artist, and across the front endpaper she has executed a superb signed pencil drawing (approximately 225 × 310 mm) of a female cellist. One of 1500 sets; the text is tri-lingual (German, English, French).

'This I would never have surmised, when in the late autumn of 1979 on the Irish West coast I sketched the four women, who ... played their O'Carolan-Adaptations and compositions of their own: Their verve, their ability, their raillery, the wistful agitations in their music ...
