Papered boards slightly rubbed at the extremities, with the rear panel lightly scored; an excellent copy with the excellent dustwrapper (lightly marked, rubbed, and scored, with a tiny closed tear).

The half-title is inscribed and signed by the author, with a self-portrait caricature, to 'Ruth and Mervyn, with love (to Ruth Tuck and Mervyn Smith).
