Flush-cut grey papered boards a little bumped and lightly worn at the extremities and unevenly tanned, with a few small light tidemarks; small early ownership signature on the front free endpaper; frontispiece pulled a little away from the binding staples; a few other mild signs of age and handling; overall, a very good copy with the very good dustwrapper (slightly rubbed, with a few short closed tears). The dustwrapper is designed by Albert Namatjira, and - quite unusually - is indexed as one of the illustrations.
This copy is signed in ink by Albert Namatjira in the margin below his frontispiece portrait. The first monograph on Albert Namatjira (thus making it the first monograph on any Indigenous artist). Demand saw it go through eight editions, with the last one published in 1955.
