A large label mounted on the verso of the front free endpaper states that 'This Edition is Limited to One Hundred Numbered Copies of which this is Number 39'. This copy was presented to Mrs Merran Harris (1939-2018) by the school's Council of Governors in December 1999; the half-title carries 35 signatures (all but four of them women). Presumably all parties have some connection with the school.
