Papered boards lettered in gilt; top edge slightly foxed; a near-fine copy with the excellent dustwrapper (slightly creased and rubbed, with one tiny closed tear).
An interesting association copy, with a small pen drawing of Michael Leunig's archetypal everyman on the front free endpaper, inscribed and signed 'To Dick, with best wishes and thanks, Mike Leunig, 1987'. The recipient was Dick Kimber (Richard Glyn Kimber AM, 1939-2024, Centralian author and historian), who features in Leunig's 1988 documentary film 'Central Australia: Tracks in the Sand'. The inscription, signature and drawing were almost certainly done during or soon after the filming of the documentary. The book is a collection of writings and illustrations by Melbourne playwright, artist and actor Barry Dickins (1949-2026).
