An album of photographs relating to a Flinders Ranges sketching trip made by artist Kenneth William David Jack (1924-2006) in 1984

A commercial album (large oblong quarto), containing 15 leaves (3 blank) with original colour photographs mounted on them.

The post-bound vinyl-covered album and contents are in fine condition.

The album was compiled by friends of the Jacks, who accompanied them of this Flinders Ranges camping trip. Some 19 colour photographs (each 88 × 126 mm) record the trip; five of them feature the artist sketching in the field. Also in the album are 33 colour photographic reproductions of artworks from the trip (5 are 200 × 250 mm, the other 28 are approximately 80 × 120 mm; a few feature Broken Hill and Silverton). All of them are captioned by the artist in ink along the bottom margin with the location and size of the original artwork. A postcard and five Christmas cards featuring Kenneth Jack artworks, all with signed messages to their friends, are included, along with a signed photocopy of a sketch of 'Opera in the Outback' (1989).

Offered together with signed presentation copies of six books and a portfolio of prints by Kenneth Jack; all items are in fine condition unless otherwise stated. With the exception of the last title, a posthumous publication inscribed and signed by his widow Betty (making reference to this trip more than 30 years in the past), all items are signed, and seven autograph letters or notes signed by Kenneth Jack are loosely inserted.
