Green cloth stamped in gilt and blind; covers a little bumped, flecked and rubbed; some staining about the top edge of a few pages (apparently where the colour from the covers has run); gift inscription and calligraphic ownership details on the front free endpaper; cracked at one opening (but firm); a good copy.
A series of short and wholesome prose pieces, including 'The Home-coming of the Explorers' (an eye-witness account of the public welcome home to Adelaide of Sir Douglas Mawson in 1915; 6 pages), 'The First and the Last at the South Pole' (thoughts on the death of Captain R.F. Scott; 7 pages), and 'The Lad in Khaki' (written soon after the outbreak of the First World War; 6 pages). The author was minister of the North Adelaide Baptist Church at the time of writing.
