A miniature photograph album containing 10 gem-format portrait photographs, circa 1860s

External dimensions 38 × 32 mm, [8] card leaves with window mounts on both sides, containing 10 loosely-inserted albumen prints (visible size 21 × 14 mm).

Bone covers backed in blue velvet, with an ornate gilt brass clasp; all edges gilt; spine lightly rubbed; a few prints slightly discoloured or creased; in excellent condition overall.

The subjects of the portraits, six women and four men, are not identified. The 'gem' photographs in this charming pocket keepsake were popular in the 1860s and 1870s.
