Gilt-pictorial red cloth a little rubbed, flecked, marked, mottled and sunned; top edge gilt; hinges cracked but firm; gift inscriptions (1909 and 1981) on the front free endpaper; title page tanned by an acidic tissue-guard; minor signs of age and use; a very good copy.

George Brown (1835-1917), a Methodist missionary, had his headquarters in Sydney from the early 1880s.
