A full-colour map (printed surface 692 × 666 mm), mounted on gauze and folded into 24 panels (folding down to approximately 190 × 120 mm), mounted on the inside rear surface of the original cloth case.

Purple cloth lettered in gilt on the front board ('Plan | of | Canberra | May 1927'); cloth unevenly sunned and slightly worn at the head of the spine; one (unimportant) panel tanned; small pencil annotation in one margin; overall, an excellent copy.

'Compiled & Published by The Federal Capital Commission, from the first premiated [prize-winning] design by Walter Burley Griffin & from Surveys conducted under direction of C.R. Scrivener, late Director of Commonwealth Lands & Surveys with approved detail modifications of design to May 1927' (from the inset panel).
