Number 229 of a limited edition of 500 copies. 'This is the first facsimile edition of Caxton's "Fables of Esope", 1484 (STC 175). It reproduces (original size) the unique perfect copy of the work in the Royal Library at Windsor Castle.' The introduction, new to this edition, is by Edward Hodnett.
