The sixth volume covered "Océanique" and it included seventeen maps of Australia. All the sheets were made on the same scale and projection, and they were so constructed that they could form a globe of about 1000 gores, 7.775 metres in diameter' (Clancy: 'The Mapping of Terra Australis', 1995).
