Flush-cut quarter cloth and papered card covers (with the full title page details repeated on both front and rear covers); cloth sunned on the spine and a little flecked; covers rubbed at the extremities and a little unevenly sunned, with the rear one lightly stained and marked; early name-plate partially removed from the front pastedown; plates lightly tanned; overall, an excellent copy.
The author was the 'Conservator of Forests for the Government of South Australia'. A second edition appeared later the same year, and a revised third edition was published in 1886.
