Cloth a little sunned about the extremities and slightly bumped; front hinge cracked but firm; a very good copy with the worn dustwrapper (with old repairs and some loss).

Inscribed and signed by the author twice, the first time on the front free endpaper 'For Mrs E.N. Mason' in June 1953; later, 'For John Jenkins' on the title page.

A commercial bookplate for John Jenkins, and his 'With Compliments' slip, are also present in the book.
