The Burke and Wills Exploring Expedition. An Account of the Crossing of the Continent of Australia, from Cooper's Creek to Carpentaria, with Portraits and Biographical Sketches of Robert O'Hara Burke, and William John Wills
Melbourne, Wilson and Mackinnon, 1861 [first thus].
Octavo, iv, 36 pages (printed in double columns, last page blank) plus the frontispiece (lithographed portraits and facsimile signatures of Burke and Wills) and tissue-guard.
Original salmon-pink printed wrappers marked, foxed, tanned and a little chipped, with minor loss to the inner corners of the rear cover; early and late leaves (and especially the tissue-guard) foxed; paper lightly tanned; minor signs of age and use, but overall, a very presentable copy.
Ferguson 7703; Wantrup 164a (a 'reissue or re-impression' of Wantrup 163, with the last two leaves, frontispiece and expanded title on the front cover and title page new to this edition, but retaining the two misprints in the second column on page 25: 'explana ions' for 'explanations', and 'Fred.' for 'Ferd.' Mueller).
