Small quarto, 64 pages with 30 colour illustrations by Helen Bannerman plus the 'new cut-out model' printed on card bound in at the rear.

Metal-spiral-bound colour-pictorial card covers slightly rubbed; ink ownership signature on the half-title; in near-fine condition.

The last two leaves (pages 61-64, versos blank) contain the seven-part 'Front View' and the one large part 'Back View' of Sambo; the large one-piece card model is partially detached from its die-cut leaf. A cursory look at other copies for sale indicates the 'new cut-out model' was included at least from the 10th printing of 1952.
