Cloth (respectively green, blue and red) blocked in gilt (using a design by Roger Payne, circa 1785); top edges dyed to match; spines and the first centimetre of the dyed top edges slightly sunned; a near-fine set in the four near-fine slipcases as issued (one top joint slightly cracked).
