Original contrasting quarter red and olive-green cloth, with the spine lettered in gilt (now slightly flaked) and extensively decorated in blind; covers slightly rubbed and lightly bumped at the extremities; spine tanned; speckled edges a little dusty; minimal signs of age and use; an excellent copy.
The book was awarded to Ruth Prescott in 1934 as a prize for domestic science at Accrington Grammar School. The prize plate is mounted on the front pastedown, and the school crest is blocked in gilt on the front cover.
