Saddle-stapled colour-pictorial card covers; rear cover a little marked, with short nicks near the head and foot of the spine (affecting a few adjacent leaves); acidic card (and the leaves in direct contact with the covers) a little tanned; slight vertical curve to the entire book; overall, a very good copy.
The book contains 'clinical reports and opinions of thirty "Bodgies" and Widgies" (Australians and New Zealanders) ... That the book contains some remarkable disclosures cannot be denied. That it reveals the basic unhappiness and frustration of many lives is equally certain. More than any other thing [it] will excite a powerful feeling of sympathy and understanding for the misfits and "lonely ones" of our Society' (rear cover). Provenance: the archaeologist Graeme Pretty, with his ink ownership signature (18 May 1960) on the title page, and minimal underlining on a few pages.
