Gilt-decorated cloth a little flecked and rubbed, with the spine a little sunned; a few leading margins lightly creased or chipped; free endpapers discoloured; expert conservation to the leading margin of the folding chart; minor signs of age and use; overall, a very good copy, uncut and substantially unopened.
New South Wales, Victoria, most of South Australia and Queensland, with a little on Central Australia; 'by far the greater part of the materials for this work was collected and recorded before 1889'. Provenance: Norman Warren Waterhouse (1899-1986), Australian engineer and naval officer, with his pictorial bookplate.
