The Burke and Wills Exploring Expedition. An Account of the Crossing of the Continent of Australia, from Cooper's Creek to Carpentaria. Reprinted from 'The Argus'
Melbourne, Wilson and Mackinnon, 1861.
Octavo, iv, 32 pages (printed in double columns).
Original salmon-pink printed wrappers marked, tanned and a little chipped, later mounted on plain card; paper generally tanned; minor signs of age and use; overall, a very presentable copy housed in a custom-made clamshell box.
Ferguson 7702; Wantrup 163 (identifying this as an early issue, probably the first, by the two misprints in the second column on page 25: 'explana ions' for 'explanations', and 'Fred.' for 'Ferd.' Mueller).
