Original decorated cloth a little rubbed and marked; spine sunned; extremities slightly bumped; outer leaves a little tanned and slightly foxed; edges occasionally roughly opened; a few mild signs of age and use; a very good copy.

Inscribed in ink 'Hubert C. Phillips with best wishes from the Author' on the half-title. Bicknell's travelogue includes gold mining and encounters with local Aboriginal people.
