External dimensions 102 (wingspan) × 85 × 30 mm, with rotating propeller and rolling wheels; in excellent condition.

The biplane is housed in a contemporary cardboard box (approximately 115 × 105 × 35 mm) inscribed on the lid 'Made By A.E. Campbell. 1918. R.F.C. Traded Water Pistol. 1922'. We have traced in the records of the Royal Flying Corps one Albert Edward Campbell (1901-1919), 'Air Force (RAF/RFC) Air Mechanic 3rd Class Royal Air Force.

'The RFC was in existence from 1912 to 1918. In July 1914 the RFC's naval wing was detached to form the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS). On 1 April 1918 the two services were merged again to form the Royal Air Force (RAF)' (National Archives).
