Melbourne, Melville & Mullen Pty. Ltd., 1919.
Octavo, [xii], 180 pages plus 12 plates with captioned tissue-guards and 4 maps (all by Daryl Lindsay, an official war artist).
Red cloth (lettered in black on the spine and front cover) a little marked, and a little bumped and worn at the extremities; acidic tissue-guards tanned, discolouring slightly the adjacent pages; one plate very lightly chipped along the leading edge; minimal later ownership details on the front free endpaper; minor signs of age and use; overall, a very good copy.
The author was a Catholic priest attached to the 48th Battalion as chaplain; he was awarded the Military Cross and the Croix de Guerre. Dornbusch 309; Fielding and O'Neill, page 230; Trigellis-Smith 246.
