A group of three engraved armorial bookplates relating to Clan Muir, all featuring the moor's or saracen's head crest (eighteenth and nineteenth centuries)

All plates a little soiled; one on a later mount, the other two with traces of adhesive on the verso (one of these with a crease to the top portion); overall, in very good condition.

The plates are for The Right Honourable Charles Moore, Lord Tullamoore (1712-1764, later 1st Earl of Charleville), Samuel Muir, and Robert Muir. The latter two have the motto 'Duris non frangor'.

Provenance: H.B. (Harry) Muir (1909-1992), bookseller, publisher and bookplate collector; by descent. [3 items].
