Harold Byrne (1899-1966) 'produced at least 95 plates between 1933 and 1943. Little is known of his life and artistic output. He lived in poverty and often frequented the Public Library, presumably because it was warm and dry, and was conspicuous by his disshelved [sic] appearance' (Peake, page 14).
