Quarter gilt-decorated forrel (see below) and decorated papered boards; a fine set with the near-fine slipcase (with a tiny split to the paper covering a top joint).
Rendered into English from the literal and complete French translation of Dr J.C. Mardrus by Powys Mathers. A leaflet explaining the material used in the binding is loosely inserted; it is a 'bookbinders' parchment known as forrel. It is a natural material made from animal skin and therefore varies in grain, colour and thickness'. [4 items].
