Most of the second one contains reports from Escape Cliffs Camp by James Manton, Acting Government Resident after the recall of Finniss. These include the complete journal of events at the camp from Manton's arrival on 13 November 1865 until 10 August 1866, with numerous references to John McKinlay and his expeditions.
