The author dedicated the book to her 'father E. Arthur Klemm who fell in love with the homestead when he was seventeen years of age whilst a carrier for the family business in Menindee, and who later became its proud owner including ninety-five thousand acres'. An original colour photograph (postcard-format) is attached to the title page with two small pieces of tape. It features five men around a small-scale windmill, against a backdrop of fenced-off scrub; they are not identified but they are probably relevant to the story.
