Octavo, [iv], 232 pages with colour cover- and title-vignettes and 13 etchings in the text plus a colour frontispiece (with a tissue-guard), all by Georges Rochegrosse and engraved by E. Decisy.
In a fine binding of three-quarter red levant morocco and marbled boards by Rivière & Son for Henry Sotheran Ltd., retaining the original colour-pictorial wrappers; spine gilt in compartments; sides ruled with double gilt fillets; top edge gilt, others uncut; paper very lightly toned at the edges; occasional light foxing (heaviest to the frontispiece); a few openings slightly marked or spotted; edges a little dusty; an excellent copy nevertheless.
Number 816 of a total edition of 1200 copies, this being one of 1050 copies on vélin d'Arches' paper, intialled 'F.F.' by the publisher François Ferroud, who had succeeded his better-known uncle André Ferroud as head of the firm.
