Quarter parchment 'with sides and end-papers of Italian patterned paper', all edges uncut; covers very lightly bumped at the extremities; an excellent copy.

Number 109 of 1250 copies. 'This is the only Donne ("the first poet in the world for some things" wrote Ben Johnson) available in one volume. It is printed in the unique seventeenth century Fell types of the Oxford University Press upon [Vidalon] handmade paper' (prospectus).
