Red cloth (lettered in gilt on the spine) lightly flecked and rubbed; extremities lightly bumped; all edges uncut; top and leading edges and the front endpaper lightly foxed; minimal signs of use and age; an excellent copy with a small contemporary name-plate on the front pastedown.

The lengthy introduction (21 pages) is by Henry Stanley.
