Cloth lightly flecked, marked and rubbed; spine lightly sunned; uncut top edge dusty, with the other edges slightly marked; frontispiece moderately offset by the acidic tissue-guard (now replaced by a loosely-inserted piece of acid-free tissue); name-stamp partially erased from the head of the title page; a very good copy.

There are light pencil check marks in the margins of about fifteen leaves, with corrigenda or addenda on four pages (in ink on one of them).
