Provenance: Dr Robert Hamilton Russell (1860-1933), the eminent English-born Australian surgeon, with his contemporary signature ('R. Hamilton Russell | Salop Infirmary | 1885') on the half-title (see the 'Australian Dictionary of Biography' for further information). The front endpaper contains the paper label of Henry Kimpton, Medical Bookseller, London; the (cancelled) bookplate of The Gordon Craig Memorial Library of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons; and the later bookplate of Professor Donald Simpson (May 1985, 'Bought at RACG GSM, Melbourne').
