Sydney, 'Issued by Central Committee, Communist Party of Australia' (and printed by The Forward Press Pty. Ltd.), [circa July 1939].
A leaflet (254 × 158 mm), drop-title, printed recto only, with a caricature of Prime Minister Robert Menzies in the top left-hand portion ('"Patriot" Menzies | 1914 - "Cold-Footed" | 1939 - Conscriptionist').
A few trifling creases and tiny chips (mainly to the blank top right-hand corner); an excellent copy.
The date is written in ink at the foot of the leaflet. 'The National Register 1939 is a compilation of documents relating, a census of male persons between the ages of 18 and 65 and a census of property under the National Registration Act 1939 [No. 11 of 1939]. The product includes explanations and instructions, legislation, forms, cards etc. of the Commonwealth of Australia and the Bureau of Census and Statistics. This product was never published and as part of our history project the ABS is now making this available' (Australian Bureau of Statistics website). Not in Trove.
