London, Baldwin and Cradock, 1834.

Octavo, xl, 408 pages.

Early half morocco and marbled papered boards, lettered and decorated in gilt on the spine; covers a little rubbed on the sides and extremities, with the corners a little worn and bumped; edges and endpapers a little marked and foxed, with occasional light scattered foxing elsewhere; minor signs of age and use (including small light stains to a few pages near the end, and early ownership details lightly erased from the front pastedown); overall a very good copy with the small paper label of 'Fletcher & Son, Booksellers & Binders, Southampton' on the front pastedown.

John Simpson first published 'A Complete System of Cookery' in 1806; the fourth edition appeared in 1822. For all intents and purposes, Brand ('of the kitchen of His Late Majesty George the Fourth') has produced a different book.
