Must Australia Fight? [How Must Australia Fight? (dustwrapper title)]

Sydney, Angus and Robertson, 1939 (first edition, with the variant colour pictorial dustwrapper).

Octavo, [viii], 224 pages with a map plus endpaper maps.

Light orange cloth a little dust-stained near the top edges of both sides (where sections were missing from the dustwrapper); spine lightly discoloured and sunned; edges lightly foxed; neat signature at the head of the title page; a (better than) very good copy with the dustwrapper broken in two along the sunned spine, with some loss there and along the top edges of the front and rear panels.

A rarely-seen book, even rarer with any part of the dustwrapper. 'Here is a book that every man and woman in Australia should read. In no other book is brought home to the average citizen, in language he or she can fully understand, exactly where Australia stands in relation to the threat to her life and liberty as a Free Democracy, that is implicit in the war clouds of to-day' (dustwrapper blurb).
