Roseville, Beagle Press, 1987.
Quarto, 112 pages with a colour portrait of the artist at work and 82 plates presenting 'the finest of Gleeson's late works all of which are illustrated in colour, together with black and white illustrations of the charcoal studies for the paintings'.
Full calf lettered in gilt on the spine and front cover; edges, front flyleaf and half-title foxed; an excellent copy in the lightly marked and bumped slipcase.
Number 64 of 100 copies of the special collectors' edition in full leather, each containing 'an original signed lithograph by James Gleeson. Copies numbered 1-50 contain "Comet I" and copies numbered 51-100 contain "Comet II"'. Apart from a tiny spot of foxing to the bottom edge, well clear of the image and signature, the loosely-inserted lithograph is in fine condition. The half-title of this copy is signed by the artist, with an additional signed inscription ('Kindest regards to Egon from James Gleeson').
