Number 186 of only 320 copies; this copy is signed by Chairman of Directors, Tom Elder Barr Smith (in our experience, not all copies are signed by him). The principal author is identified in the Chairman's foreword as A.A.R. Cooper. The pioneering founders were Sir Thomas Elder, N.E. Phillipson, and Peter Waite; the first of the Beltana stations was acquired in 1862; the early history of the company encompasses much on inland exploration.
