Thick octavo, viii, 2056, 24 (advertisements) pages with 14 pages of illustrations (how to fold serviettes) plus 128 pages of black and white plates, 30 colour plates (2 of them double-page), an advertising leaf (after page 8) and endpaper advertisements. All advertisements are printed in two colours.
Original quarter gilt-decorated red leather and green cloth; extremities very slightly rubbed; edges and endpapers a little foxed; minor blemishes to top edges and margins of some leaves between pages 33-94 (a production flaw when the edges were trimmed), but our conservator has made short work of them, and the overall impact is minimal; a few other trifling signs of use and age, but essentially this is an excellent copy.
