Oblong small octavo (124 × 178 mm), 39 pages (33 of them with printed music).

Flush-cut blue cloth lettered in gilt on the front cover; cloth slightly marked, flecked and rubbed; inner hinges slightly cracked; a large top corner piece torn from the front flyleaf (possibly removing a Masonic blindstamp, which is present on the rear flyleaf and two early leaves); some relevant pencilling to one opening, one leaf of which is a little creased and has a sealed tear; a tipped-in leaf contains an additional quatrain in manuscript; overall in very good condition.
