Octavo, one page, 11 April 1999; folded for posting; in fine condition.
A friendly, chatty letter from Gibbes, thanking the recipient, one Mitch Evans, for a cheque, 'but too much, so am returning $15.00'. The payment would have been for a copy of his autobiography, 'You Live But Once', self-published in 1994. He mentions some of his current health issues: 'my big toe is now almost better. Sitting with one leg on a stool for six months without any exercise left me pretty weak but I am now back on the golf course'. The personal cheque never made it to the bank: it is still with the letter, albeit a little faded. [2 items].
