[Brisbane], National Nine News, 1995.
Quarto, 256 pages with numerous illustrations (many in colour).
Colour-pictorial laminated papered boards lightly worn at the extremities, with a short split to the head of the rear joint; a very good copy (internally excellent).
'The quest for the Sheffield Shield has been Queensland's hardest fought battle, lasting 69 years and 487 matches.' This copy celebrates the feat in grand style, with the former owner getting approximately 100 ink signatures in it. Apart from Lord Mayor Clem Jones and a few officials, they are all cricketers, and the signatures appear on or near their respective portraits. There are 67 different signers; over 20 individuals have signed twice or three times (Allan Border top-scores with five). Some other familiar names include Ian Healy, Matthew Hayden, Greg Chappell, Tom Vievers, Jeff Thompson, Ron and Ken Archer, Andy Bichel, Carl Rackemann, Bill Brown and Peter Burge. A full list is available on request.
