Adelaide, W.K. Thomas & Co. [for the Author], 1902.
Small octavo, [vi], 252 pages plus a frontispiece (from a sketch by Mark Gawen) and a lengthy note tipped in facing the preface (explaining and excusing the 'good many linotype errors').
Original maroon pebbled cloth a little rubbed and flecked; boards slightly bowed; spine lightly sunned, edges lightly foxed; slight loss to silverfish to the endpapers; a very good copy with the binder's ticket of E.S. Wigg & Son on the rear pastedown.
The head of the preface page is inscribed to 'E.M. Charlick from his old friend Robt Bruce' (19 May 1902). The later bookplate of Henry Luke White (1860-1927), NSW pastoralist ('Belltrees', Scone), collector (read about him in the 'Australian Dictionary of Biography'), and philanthropist. While you are at it, you may also read all about Robert Bruce (c.1836-1908), pastoralist and writer, too.
